I think one of the main reasons I like the show is due to the fact that they have such an eclectic mix of music. Last week they did one of my favorite Sinatra songs, "The Lady is A Tramp." Not only that but they do classic rock music, i.e. Queen, Journey, REO Speedwagon. I LOVE that stuff! I don't know if I have a favorite singer as of yet but I do enjoy listening to Cory Monteith (a.k.a Finn) rock out to classic 80's rock music. Mark Salling, who plays Puck, has an amazing voice as well! Plus, he's hot! Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry, is one of my favorites too. I think she has a beautiful voice and I love when she sings because she puts a lot of emotion in it. I guess they all do!
I have to say that when I started watching this show one of the things I didn't like was that Jane Lynch is in it as Sue Sylvester. I have never particularly like her as an actress, I don't know why I just never have. Sorry Jane. But she is freakin' HILARIOUS in the this show! Her character is so absurd in what she considers "right" and some of the things she does and gets away with is laughable! It does make for some great entertainment. Another thing that can be annoying, if used in real life, is when she refers to herself in the 3rd person, but it works for her here. It just adds to egotistical persona.
She, for some reason, has an unhealthy hatred for Will Schuester, Matthew Morrison, who is another cutie. She is constantly trying to find ways to bring him down or destroy him and the Glee club. There is always this rivalry between the Glee club and the Cheerios but I think it is mostly all in Sue's head. I mean there are 4 cheerios in the Glee club and granted they may not all get along 100% with the rest of the group but they manage not to kill each other. ;-)
One of my favorite episodes was when they did a tribute to Madonna. I was looking forward to this one and I totally blanked and forgot the show was on. Thankfully, we have a little thing called Hulu. So, while I was at my parents in Omaha for Mother's day I sat down and caught up on my Glee. I loved the Madonna episode! It brought back memories of songs I used to listen to growing up. I especially liked Sue Sylvester's "Vogue" video. They did and awesome job on it!
The girls singing and dancing to Madonna's "Express yourself."
They are soooo cute!
I need to go back and watch season 1 to see how it all started!
