What Girl Doesn't Like To Shop?

Me, that's who! I know it sounds weird but I am a girl who doesn't like to shop...for clothes for myself. I absolutely adore helping my friends shop for clothes but when it comes to me it just seems to be a disaster. :-/ This is due mainly because I am short, I have big muscular legs (I think they are bulky and annoying), and I am not a size 2. So, I tend to look short and stumpy and it is hard to find clothing that looks good on me. Shopping for clothing for me is just plain frustrating.

So, this weekend I went shopping for some dresses with my mom and sister at Target. I need some really cute and flattering dresses for friends' weddings this summer. I went in with low expectations and to my surprise I did find some that I thought looked cute on the hanger but me being who I am, I was still skeptical. So, I tried on the first round of dresses and they were a disappointment. So, as I was trying on the next few my sister went out to look for some more. She came back with a dress that I have always liked but never thought I could pull off.

I think I hit the jackpot! I found 3 new dresses, that don't look half bad on me and they were relatively cheap! I have found, through this process, that I am kind of a cheapskate or thrifty person. ;-) Not that I won't spend money but I thought that $20-$25 for a dress was expensive when apparently is isn't. I still feel it is a lot of money when you buy 3 of them. So here they are:

This is the dress my sister liked the most and pushed me to get until I broke down and got it. I actually ended up liking it on me and I can't wait to wear and see what you all think. :-)

When I first saw this dress I thought, "Wow, that's really cute but it will never fit me and look good." To my surprise, it looks pretty good. It may be hard to see but it has a braided strap that crisscrosses (sp?) in the front. I can't wait to wear this one too!

I got this really cute cardigan sweater to wear over my new dress above because I am not 100% comfortable showing off my arms that much. You may not be able to see but it has some really cute beading around the neck. It also looks great on the other spaghetti strap dress I got but I couldn't find a picture of it. You will just have to wait and see. :-)

Now, I HAD to go look at the shoes while I was there, just to see what they had and OMG did I find some cute sandals!!! I love the gladiator-like sandals and I have had my eye on a pair for quite some time now.

I LOVE THESE SHOES!!! One reason I love them is because they make my feet look long and lean and they are just plain cute and comfortable!!! My mom thought they were cute and got a pair as well.

I was looking in the sandal isle and fell upon these cute lil' gems! I think they are called cage sandals and I tried them on with a twinge of hesitation but excitement at how cute they looked. I LOVE them!!! I think these will great with my new braided strap dress above! :-D

Let's hope that this luck in shopping is not fleeting! I need a little happiness in the shopping department. Happy shopping everyone!
