Let the Countdown Begin!

OMG! I am starting to get excited about my fast approaching trip to SC! It didn't hit me until today when I was telling my co-workers all about what we are gonna do while I am there. I talked to my friend last night and we started mapping out what all we are gonna do while there. I am gonna get a tour of South Carolina! We are starting out in the Upcountry of SC in Walhalla. There is a festival there the weekend I will be there so we decided to go up there and possibly go into the mountains since we will be near them. I hope to get some great shots of the fall foliage while I am there. I love photography and I especially love nature photography! So, I am taking 2 cameras, one for pictures of me and my friend as we go about our travels and the other one for pictures of the amazing scenery we will see. This may sound weird to some of you out there but if you know me you know that it is probably a good idea. I went to the local zoo and took 300+ photos. It's easily done. It doesn't help that we are going to the Atlanta Aquarium where I will get to see huge Manta Rays, cute little Asian Small Clawed Otters, Beluga Whales, etc. I love them all and I can't wait to get some shots of them. :-)

On the aquarium website you can watch the otters, beluga whales and ocean voyager exhibits via web cams. It has been fun watching the little river otters play around and watching the graceful swim of the manta rays. I can't wait to see them in person. I was looking for a picture of some river otters and came across this cute video of the sounds that river otters make. They sound like a squeak toy that my puppy plays with! It makes them even more cute! I have been in love with river otters ever since I saw them at the zoo a few years ago. Now, I'm sure I have seen them in the past but normally when I was there they weren't out so I missed them. When I was there a few years ago I had a lot of fun photographing them and I instantly fell in love! I'm a sucker for their cute faces, their little teddy bear noses and tiny ears! I love them!

I have recently become enamored by the Manta Ray. I have been watching them on the web cam and they are just so incredibly graceful! I am mesmerized when I watch their fins flutter up and down, it's just beautiful! Here is a video a came across about a month ago about a Manta Ray stealing a camera man's $5000 rig. It's pretty humorous and it gives you a close up the Manta Ray. Isn't God awesome?! I mean just watch some of the ocean life swim. They are so fluid in their movements and the fact that they live under water is amazing. We can't do that, birds and dogs and elephants can't do that. He created us all different and it's amazing to see His creation in their natural habitat. He has created sooooo many interesting animals and I can't wait to learn more about them all.

Well, I will stop rambling on about my vacation. I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful Autumn day!
